You can now create your own classic “Friends” Thanksgiving “dessert” thanks to a new meal kit inspired by the beloved series.
HelloFresh has brought Rachel Green‘s iconic Thanksgiving trifle to life with Rachel Green’s Trifle Kit in honor of the 30th anniversary of “Friends” this year.
The limited-edition meal kit, which went on sale Monday, Nov. 4 and quickly sold out for the day, is inspired by the “Friends” season six Thanksgiving episode where Green makes the dessert for the first time.
In the show, while trying to follow a recipe to make a dessert trifle, Green ends up making it with a layer of “beef sautéed with peas and onions” after two pages of her cookbook get stuck together, creating a mix of sweet berry trifle and savory shepherd’s pie.
But to keep bakers from making Green‘s mistake, HelloFresh’s kit includes all of the steps and ingredients to make both a Classic English Trifle and Beef Shepherd’s Pie. It also includes an apron and a dish.
The trifle dish comes with a center divider so both meals can be served side-by side. This will also allow “Friends” fans to channel either their inner Joey and try the two recipes at the same time, as he does in the show, or to eat them separately.
People can purchase the Rachel Green Trifle Kit online for $34.99 plus free shipping. A limited number of kits will be released for purchase each day from Nov. 4-7.
Orders can be placed started at 9 a.m. each day, and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The kits, which serve six people, will be sent out for delivery during the week of Nov. 11. The trifle dish will be shipped separately.
