WESTFIELD – Westfield’s first flag retirement ceremony is on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Westfield Sportsman’s Club, 95 Furrowtown Road, hosted by the Marine Corps League Detachment 141, American Legion Post 124 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 219. The public is welcome to attend and witness old, faded and tattered flags retired with honor.
The flag retirement burn pit is an Eagle Scout project of Westfield High School student Brandon Cekovsky of Boy Scout Troop 109 at St. Mary’s Church.
