FRIDAY nights are made for takeaways and telly and a Chinese is a favourite.
But the cost of ordering in can be less easy to swallow so here is how you can tuck into a tasty fakeaway instead.
CHILLI BEEF NOODLES: You can make your own airfryer Chinese meal with plonk for two for less than a tenner.
Frugal foodie influencer Nikitta Louise teamed up with winemaker Campaneo for the following recipe.
Start by mixing 200g beef in thin strips, one small egg, four tablespoons of cornflour, plus one teaspoon of Chinese five- spice powder in a bowl.
Then add the mixture to a well-oiled air fryer basket and cook for ten minutes at 190C.

In the meantime, add one pepper and two fresh chillies to a hot pan before adding three diced cloves of garlic, one teaspoon of ginger puree, two tablespoons each of ketchup and honey, plus three tablespoons of soy sauce.
Leave to simmer for ten minutes.
Cook two nests of noodles according to the pack instructions before adding to the sauce.
Once cooked, add the beef to the sauce and stir through.
The dish pairs well with Campaneo’s Old Vines Garnacha, £5.45 at Morrisons.
TAKEAWAY FOR TWO: Some of the supermarkets offer special Chinese takeaway bundles that are much cheaper than a takeaway.
You can get a meal for two, which includes chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice, for £8 from Asda.
Or a Sainsbury’s ready meal for two includes one egg fried rice, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, four vegetable spring rolls and prawn crackers, and costs £7.95 with a Nectar card or £8.95 without.
