The New York Yankees lived to fight another day after taking down the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-4 in Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday, but they still have a big mountain to climb in order to win this series.
New York radio icon Mike Francesa was happy about the win but knows just as well as all of us that there’s still a ton of work to be done and called out one Yankee ahead of Game 5 on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday morning’s episode of The Mike Francesa Podcast, Francesa said about Game 5 starter Gerrit Cole, “The bottom line is, this is his moment to put his stamp on this World Series. This is his canvas. His and his alone. His game. If he wants it, he can have it from the first out to the 27th if he wants.”

Francesa is completely right, and having the ace on the mound for Game 5 in this situation puts all the pressure in the world on him and if this series is going to go back to LA, it has to be because of Cole.
It could be his last appearance of the year, so he has to empty the gas tank and have the defining moment the Yankees gave him $300+ million to deliver.
Cole was solid in Game 1, but he has a chance to cement himself as a Yankees legend in Game 5 if he can twirl a gem and help his team become the first team to ever force a Game 6 after being down 3-0.
