Mass. State Lottery winner: $1 million prize claimed in $5 game

A lottery player from Massachusetts claimed a $1 million prize from a $5 scratch ticket game on Thursday.

The $1 million prize was from “Electric 7s,” a game released on July 12, 2022. This was the final $1 million prize remaining to be claimed in the game.

The winning ticket was sold in Pittsfield from a Kwik Mart shop.

Additionally, three $100,000 lottery prizes were won or claimed in the state on Thursday. One was from the “Mass Cash” drawing. The winning numbers for the Oct. 10 drawing were 3, 7, 20, 27 and 32.

The other two prizes were from scratch tickets. One was from the “Double Cash” scratch ticket game, which costs $2 to play. The winning ticket was sold in Easton from an Alltown shop.

The other $100,000 scratch ticket prize was from “Millions,” a $30 game. The ticket was sold in Charlestown from a shop called A1 Convenience.

Overall, at least 520 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Thursday, including six in Springfield, 15 in Worcester and 52 in Boston.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

So far, the largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts this year was worth $1 million a year for life.

The prize was from the lottery’s “Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket game. The winner claimed their prize through a trust on July 10, and opted to receive a one-time payment of $15.4 million.
