PANICKED iPhone users have reported that everything in their Notes app has mysteriously disappeared after accepting new iCloud terms.
Apple recently put out new terms and conditions for using the service, which appears to have triggered a bug.
iPhone owners across social media have been worried that their precious notes have been deleted forever.
Fortunately this is not the case and there is a way to bring them back.
“I dont have any notes anymore,” one worried user wrote on X.
“please help my entire novel was on there.”
Another wrote: “Not me stressing at 6AM because I opened my notes app on my iPhone and everything (years of notes) had disappeared.
“Of course I came on Twitter & found out it’s because of some iCloud terms & conditions I had agreed to.”
A third added: “All of my notes on my iPhone have randomly disappeared. 10 years of music, poems, journal entries, information…GONE.”
It’s not clear how widespread the problem is.
But after agreeing to the new terms, affected users claim that there’s nothing but an empty “On My iPhone” folder.
Restarting the app doesn’t appear to fix it either.
How to fix iPhone Notes app
Fortunately, your notes have not been deleted – and it’s pretty easy to fix yourself.
All it requires is a re-sync to your iCloud account.
To do this, do the following:
- Open Settings
- Tap your name at the top
- Go to iCloud
- Select Notes
- Wait for the Sync this iPhone toggle to show
- When it does, turn it off and on again
- Go back to the Notes app and wait for it to re-sync
