This is not how the Philadelphia 76ers wanted to start their season.
After being without Joel Embiid and Paul George for weeks and earning a paltry 1-6 record, the Sixers got more bad news on Thursday morning as Shams Charania reported that Tyrese Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks because of a right hamstring injury.
Nothing is official yet and a full evaluation is coming later on Thursday but the team is already preparing to be without their All-Star guard.
George is now back with the team and Embiid is set to return soon but this latest injury news is just another disappointment for the Sixers and fans came out online to give their opinions.

Some people said the team is “cooked” and feel the season might be cursed.
According to ESPN, only three teams have made the playoffs after a 1-6 or 0-7 start in the past 25 years so history doesn’t seem to be on Philadelphia’s side.

Some said this might all work out well for the Sixers because the team could tank so badly that they get the top draft pick for the summer and end up with incoming rookie Cooper Flagg.
In all likelihood, the Sixers will improve their record but the idea of them being championship contenders, at least right now, feels far-fetched.
Sixers going to end up with Cooper Flagg at this rate.

There are many people who feel the Sixers just have really bad luck and wonder if it’ll ever change.
WTF?! Just when Embiid is returning, now Maxey goes down too 😭😭😭

The only good news for Philadelphia is that these injuries are coming at the beginning of the season.
That means there is still plenty of time for Embiid, George, and Maxey to play together and get the team into playoff position.
