Regarding Constance Lee’s recent op-ed, ” ‘Freedom to Read’ threatens freedom of innocence,” which opposes the “Freedom to Read Act.”:

The bill, intended to make it more difficult to ban certain books, especially in school libraries, and protect librarians against retaliation, recently won full state legislative approval, and awaits action by Gov. Phil Murphy.

Sorry, but Lee’s motives are readily apparent. Although her op-ed states that it represents her individual opinion, it’s an undeniable fact that she is the Camden County chair of Moms for Liberty. This organization has been declared as an “anti-government hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center. A like-minded group to Lee’s, the New Jersey Project, has received the same designation.
