A jury has been shown CCTV footage of a 16-year-old, accused of murdering two teenagers, with a McDonald’s takeaway just hours after the fatal attack.

The defendant – who can’t be named due to his age – is one of five on trial accused of murdering Mason Rist, 15, and 16-year-old Max Dixon on 27 January.

On Tuesday, the jury at Bristol Crown Court was shown CCTV footage of the minutes and hours following the knife attack in the Knowle West area of the city.

The prosecution says the killings were carried out in response to bricks being thrown at a house in the Hartcliffe area around an hour earlier.

Ray Tully KC, prosecuting, says Mason and Max had “absolutely nothing” to do with the earlier incident and that they were killed in a case of mistaken identity.

Antony Snook, 45, Riley Tolliver, 18, and three boys aged 15, 16 and 17 are on trial each charged with two counts of murder.

Snook is alleged to have driven his Audi Q2 in search of those responsible for the brick attack, while Tolliver and the three teenage boys are said to have been passengers, the jury previously heard.

On Tuesday, CCTV footage allegedly showed the 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy returning to the Hartcliffe property in the minutes after the stabbings, both exiting the Audi – with a large knife clearly visible.

At around 5.20am the following morning, six hours after the attack, footage allegedly shows the 16-year-old arriving at another property in the local area carrying a large bag of McDonald’s food and drink.

CCTV footage of the 33-second attack on Mason and Max was shown to the jury on Monday – including the vehicle stopping, four teenagers allegedly jumping out, attacking the two friends, returning to the car and driving off.

The youngest defendant, who was 14 at the time of the attack and is now 15, has admitted the murder of Mason Rist but denies the murder of Max Dixon.
