Bills RB Cook (toe) questionable, plans to play

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills running back James Cook will be questionable for Monday’s game against the New York Jets with a toe injury, according to coach Sean McDermott, but he is planning to play, his agency, LAA, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cook suffered the toe injury during the Week 5 loss to the Houston Texans and did not participate in practice early in the week. McDermott said Saturday that Cook would be limited in the team’s final practice of the week, and he was out on the field during the portion of practice open to the media.

Wide receiver Khalil Shakir (ankle), defensive tackle Austin Johnson (oblique) and nickel cornerback Taron Johnson (forearm) will also all be limited and listed as questionable, McDermott said. Johnson has not played since he was injured on the first drive of Week 1. All were at practice during the portion open to the media.

McDermott said wide receivers Curtis Samuel (toe) and Mack Hollins (shoulder) should be “good to go for the game.”

The Bills are looking to avoid their first three-game losing streak since 2018.
