The Indianapolis Colts entered the 2024 season with plenty of hope and expectations.
After all, Anthony Richardson started the season without any injury limitations, and many fans thought he’d be a great spark plug for the team.
However, while the Colts still hold a winning record, not everything is going according to plan for this organization.
Richardson has displayed some work ethic issues, and after seeing his performances over several weeks, the Colts made the tough decision to bench him in Week 9.
This would have been an opportunity for Richardson to play in primetime, but the coaching staff thought otherwise.
Bill Belichick recently sat down with the crew at “Inside the NFL”, where he was asked about his thoughts on Richardson.
Instead of talking down about the young QB, Belichick said, “Anthony Richardson is a great kid, a great competitor.”

He still believes that Richardson can be an impactful quarterback in this league, no matter how many times he gets benched.
Richardson still hasn’t played that many games in his football career, so he could still be figuring it out and adapting to the pros.
If he stays on the shelf much longer, fans might question his role on the team, and even in the NFL, moving forward.
Richardson was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for a reason, but if he’s not performing up to par for the Colts, they might look to move on sooner rather than later if recent trends persist.
