After spending the first five and a half seasons in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Andrew Wiggins got a chance at a fresh start with the Golden State Warriors, which was much needed for the talented two-way player.
Ultimately, landing with the Warriors was exactly what Wiggins needed to reach his true potential, as he needed to be a second or third option on a talented team in order to truly flourish because he went nowhere as the top option in Minnesota.
During the 2021-22 NBA season with the Warriors, Wiggins came into his own playing alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, helping the team win an NBA title, which resulted in him resurrecting his basketball career.
Unfortunately for Wiggins, the last two seasons in the Bay Area have been forgettable, to say the least, as he’s dealt with some off-the-floor issues, which have significantly impacted his play on the floor for the Warriors.
Despite talks of the Warriors trying to trade Wiggins, the veteran forward is still in San Francisco and will make his preseason debut with the team tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he admittedly doesn’t know where his conditioning level is at this point via Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Wiggins is coming off a season in which he averaged a career-low 13.2 points per game, which isn’t ideal for a team that relies on him to help provide some offense.
However, Wiggins has an opportunity to resurrect his career once again, as the Warriors need to fill the void left by Thompson, who signed with the Dallas Mavericks over the summer, meaning they could lean on him early to see if he can still be productive on the basketball floor.
