The race for this season’s NBA MVP is going to be intense and competitive, but there can only be one winner.
There are a few candidates for Most Valuable Player, but one sits slightly above everyone else, according to Bovada.
NBACentral noted that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder is currently the frontrunner for the prize with +225 odds.
He is closely followed by Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks with +260, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics with +400, and Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who has +750 odds.
Nikola Jokic, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Jalen Brunson also appear on the list but have much smaller chances of being named MVP.

It’s not a surprise to see Gilgeous-Alexander sitting at the top of this list.
He’s currently averaging 25.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game.
Plus, his Thunder have had a terrific start to the season and many people believe they might have what it takes to go all the way to the Finals.
Meanwhile, seeing Doncic so hot on Gilgeous-Alexander’s heels is not surprising.
He is scoring 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game and is easily the central part of the Dallas Mavericks.
Unless something drastic happens, these two players will likely battle it out for MVP for the rest of the season.
Both have been in the MVP conversation for years but it seems like one of them will finally pull it off in 2024-25.
Gilgeous-Alexander is ahead of Doncic right now, but just barely, so this is a race to watch.
